10/20/2013 HAPPY BIRTHDAY to this handsome man! To celebrate we busted out the broiled lamb chops and homemade banana cream pie. I'm so grateful for this Mr. that makes me the Vrouw. "Happy Birthday Sweetheart!"

I declared today as Grandma Atkin Day! Why? Because I have been thinking about her a lot over the past several days... and I ended up making two of her most favorite recipes...today!  I'm so grateful I got to have Grandma Joy as My Grandma. It is interesting, the longer she has been gone, the more I miss her. As I grow and learn more as a wife and mother I see more of the special person she was. I felt like I have always thanked her, but I cant wait until I can thank her even more.

I love this picture because I think we look alike and it shows the joy our relationship was.

Picked Daddy up from school today to have a surprise pick-nick at the Franklin Institute park. Couldn't have been a nicer fall afternoon.

I no longer have to wait since it is officially Fall season. I love busting out my favorite 3 ingredient pumpkin chocolate chip cookie recipe! I have already made them twice for dessert with two different sets of dinner guests. ha. So here is how it goes:

1 carrot cake mix or spice
1 small can of pumpkin
1 12 oz bag of chocolate chips

350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Always milk and cookies.

Today was a good day. We got a little adventurous and spent last night in Washington DC in preps for a wedding for Clay's mission friend. I was extra excited getting up there because our new temple district is Washington DC! It was my first time at the DC temple! Woot!  While Clay was in on the wedding ceremony, V and I walked around the temple grounds and even went in and checked out the visitor center. Pretty special mom and lil buddy time talking temples and stuff. :) The visitor center had on display "Jesus once was a little child," the artwork of Rose Datoc Dall.  I loved it! Click Rose Datoc Dall painting series to see what I am talking about.
