First day of 2014/2015 school year.
08/11/2014 Today is officially Clay's first day back to school and end of summer break. What adventure this summer has been. We kept busy. Happy to have our move over with and feel settled into our new house. Despite much of the summer was packing and unpacking we were grateful for all of the fun things we were able to see and do. It's crazy to think that we have been here for a year, and now officially a 2nd year pod student. Yahoo! I am so grateful for all of the hard work Clay puts into the school year to get good grades.
No doubt this school semester will come with its unknowns and challenges of having a new baby, but we're always up for welcoming a new baby girl into the family. We are officially 29 weeks along, and know that the end of October will be here before we know it! Happy to be a Shumway, and doing what we're doing.

08/09/2014 For our last Saturday before school started back up we went to the dog beach in Jersey.  Between the dogs and Bubba we were kept busy the whole day. Totally worth the effort and drive. I can't wait to go more next year.
Vander loved running back and forth into the waves. He accidentally face-dived a few times. He wasn't that happy about it, but he didn't let that stop him from going back for more. Harlee girl was my little helper. She made sure that any dogs that came over by "homebase" was chased off with her sassy frass attitude. I loved it because it kept all the other dogs from just waltzing into our shade tent, and food. Dozer was a happy boy to wrestle and run into the waves with other dogs. Clay kept busy following Vander and the dogs around while I mostly held down home base and kept everyone sun-screened, fed, and hydrated. Oh what a day!!

06/15/2014 Happy Father's Day to all of our great dads, brothers, grandpas, uncles, and cousins out there! I am so grateful for the wonderful men in my life who have lead and loved by example.
The boys just before church today.
On this Father's Day where we are expecting our second, I'm especially grateful for my sweetheart. Clay does so much for me, and makes up for where I fall short. He is endlessly patient, and manages to laugh when I think I deserve a yellin' at. I appreciate how much thought and effort Clay puts into making my every day life better. To be happy is what he wants for me, and happy he makes me. He works endlessly to preside, provide, and protect for our little family. Clay is a great dad, and Vander's love for him is just a reflection of that Dad greatness. I am so blessed to be his sweetheart, and be the one he calls Vrouw.

"Happy Father's Day" to all of you wonderful men who have made our lives better because you are part of it.
